KG, aka artist, DJ and broadcaster Karen Nyame, marked her return to the world with a reissue of her classic UK Funky track “808” in 2017 on London based label Goon Club Allstars, who have provided ample bangers in a similar syncopated vein through the likes of DJ Lag & Rudeboyz.

Since her debut EP, KG has been in the studio channeling 10 years of pure, unadulterated club energy into her forthcoming project whilst conquering performances all across the capital, country and continent.

2019 saw KG release on UK powerhouse label Hyperdub, an epic two EP collab with another UK Funky veteran; Scratcha DVA. We were introduced to the euphoric sounds of their Touch EP and the cheekier, but by no means less potent Classix EP, a reworking of various favourites to devastating effect.

Sensei, as a body of work, is another EP of showing off; peak time party
starting classic Feeling Funky, remastered to its fullest low end potential
alongside an extra cunty remix from ballroom star Quest?onmarc. Blackberry Music (original by Greyman) Remix is a rarer KG deep cut; signature KG drums roll out across the track, letting the marimba’s and various synth lines do the talking. It’s the lead track Sensei, however, that really shows a sense of mastery; gunfingers without breaking a sweat and subs so deep as to be lost on all those but the heaviest of systems - a rallying call to promoters everywhere.
